Medication Management

Managing medications and supplements on your own can be stressful and confusing, especially when you’re undergoing treatment for mental and/or physical health issues.

How can Medication Management help?

Having a clear and complete understanding of your medication schedule gives everyone a starting point for managing prescribed therapy options.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost half of the U.S. population has used at least one prescription medication in that past 30 days, with 1 in 5 having used at least three prescribed medications. This number increases significantly for those being treated for mental health disorders.

Assessing your current medication schedule can help to identify potential issues that may put you at risk for an adverse drug event, including overdosing, underdosing, missed medications, or unintended side effects from negative interactions.

“One study found that adverse drug events result in as many as 4.5 million ambulatory visits to medical offices and the E.D. each year.”

What to Expect:

At Hope for Healing, we want to be sure your prescriptions, supplements, and treatments achieve their intended therapeutic outcomes.

At times, medication is required as part of a client’s holistic health plan and is used in conjunction with other therapies. Our Medication Management clients are asked to bring in all medications, both prescribed and over-the-counter, they are currently taking so we can create an accurate list to use for reconciliation and recommendations.

All Medication Management clients work with a doctorally-prepared Nurse Practitioner to address potential client safety issues and opportunities to revise existing treatment plans. This advice can be provided independently or in-collaboration with a client’s established medical team.
